OUR STORY

Hey there! I’m Rev. Westley West, the founder of Faith Empowered Ministries Church -Baltimore, MD. Our team is on a mission to share purpose, hope, and love to a lost world. Here is my story.

Back in early 2011, just weeks after quitting my job, I found myself in a difficult and lonely place. I realized that I was chasing the wrong things over the past couple of years in my personal life and in business, and I finally gave in to God's constant nudges.

All my life, I knew my purpose was to influence people positively and share truth with others. My faith in God was what I valued most, and I wanted desperately for all the world to hear about what He has done for me, and what He will do for them. But I didn’t know how, or what my role in His plan would be.

THE DREAM

It was during that valley in 2014 that God put it on my heart to start Faith Empowered Ministries. When He asked me to point others to Him through it, it finally all clicked. I had somewhat struggled in sharing my faith, and I had the idea of creating content and social media accounts that would open doors to easily share my faith with others. I knew that it wasn’t just me that struggled with this, so I had no doubt that this could help many people.

A few years later, I found myself consistently sharing my daily prayers on twitter that would often go viral with unique meanings and themes. I searched through my Bible, finding my favorite verses to match each prayer.

Talking about consistency, I now feel an even greater urge to share my faith with the world. I realized that something as simple as a T-shirt could serve as an amazing tool for sharing our faith with others. When someone asked about a T-Shirt that I was we’re wearing, that said "God + Trap Music = Balance." I had an incredible opportunity to explain what it means, and what the purpose of it is. A simple "hey I like your T- Shirt" could turn into a life-changing experience for that person.

Just a few weeks later, Faith Empowered Ministries was born, I had my first member and I gave my first T-shirt to that member.

That journey sharing my faith has been the very thing that keeps me trusting God in dangerous seasons of my life.

THE IMPACT

I realize that the enemy forms his greatest weapons at those who are sharing their faith with others, because he knows that though he forms his weapons against you, God surrounds you with His favor as a shield. Whatever is FORMED WON’T PROSPER! But it won’t stop the enemy from trying to halt your mission, and witness.

The name Faith Empowered Ministries represents how we, as Christians, are never done growing. We will never be perfect, and every single day, we must work hard to grow in our relationship with our Creator. The T-shirt (and now, apparel) serve as a daily reminder to constantly strive to empower our faith—to take our relationship with God to the next level and to share our faith with others.

We are building an amazing community together, and I’m so grateful for your support. I couldn’t be more excited to watch this seed continue to grow alongside every one of you. We wouldn’t be here without all of YOU!
